The new Nordic tea ceremony reinvented with Lastu Teacup

Lastu Teacup is reinvented to save planet’s resources. It is made of wood-based renewable resources, UPM Formi EcoAce. The wood which is used in the UPM Formi EcoAce biocomposite comes from sustainably managed forest. And as the wood-based raw materials are side streams and residues of other wood processing, no additional harvesting is needed. Natural wood fibres give each Lastu unique look and feel.

Lastu is not only innovative due to it’s raw material, but also due to it’s very clever design. The angular base and single sided infuser let you adjust the taste of your tea by tipping the Lastu Teacup from side to side. Infuser is removable for cleaning in dishwasher.

The idea to Lastu Teacup came from Laura Bougdanos and the final form was designed by Vesa Jääskö. It is already rewarded with Red Dot Design Award (GER), Good Design Award (US), German Design Award nominee (GER) and Fennia Prize honorary mention (Fin).
